Office Hours:
Office Hours are held every Friday for students who have questions and/or need help with the current units of instruction. I will be in my classroom between 1:45-2:30. Office hours are not “tutoring sessions.” Instead, they are a regularly scheduled opportunity for my students to ask additional questions, get clarification, or get a little more explanation on things they will be studying for upcoming quizzes and tests.
Students have been told the following:
• Every teacher will be available for help/questions about the most recent work being studied in class. The focus is on current units, upcoming quizzes/tests.
• All students are welcome to attend IF you have questions or need some extra help. This is a time for additional help; it does not replace the need or responsibility to ask questions and pay attention during class.
• The time is divided into TWO sessions. You can get help from two teachers during this time OR stay with one teacher the whole time. There will be a signal to switch to another classroom half way through.
• There are sign-up sheets in every classroom. Students are asked to sign up for the Friday help sessions by Thursday.
• Students must come with questions so they can ask for specific help. If students are staying for help, they are expected to put forth effort and participate. Misbehavior or disruptive behavior will be referred to the administration immediately. Inattentive/disruptive students will no longer be allowed to attend office hour help sessions.
• Students may only stay for help if they have arranged for a ride to pick them up at 2:45.
